Gartner® named Performio in The Magic Quadrant™ for Sales Performance Management, 2026. We're proud of the placement. We're even more proud of what they said about the product.
When Gartner's analysts looked under the hood, they called out Performio's AI capabilities as a strength, specifically recognizing the AI Admin Assistant, implementation agents, and MCP server as a pragmatic, outcome-oriented approach to real operational problems. They noted the AI Sales Coach delivers real-time guidance to sellers, surfaces next best actions tied to incentive structures, and connects to CRM pipeline data for predictive commission modeling via natural language. Gartner also gave us high marks for the calculation engine that drives Performio’s ability to produce accurate commission statements from messy data and complicated plans. That's AI doing meaningful work inside a system that sellers and RevOps teams depend on.
None of it happened by accident.
For years, our CEO Grayson Morris has been making the same argument: incentive compensation is still an unsolved problem, and most vendors stopped trying to solve it. The industry drifted toward territory planning, quota tools, and forecasting: adjacent markets that are easier to demo. Gartner recognized that Performio has addressed these functions through deliberate partnerships and integrations rather than distracting from the core, including our work with LINEN Cloud on territory and quota planning. Meanwhile the gnarliest part of the job—accurately calculating complex, multi-variable commission plans at scale across roles, geographies, and edge cases—kept getting harder and kept getting ignored. That's where we stayed.
Gartner especially recognized the engine we've built to address it: a standardized data model, component-based plan architecture, native no-code ETL, retroactive true-up processing that doesn't touch audit trails, and near-real-time calculation. That foundation exists because we have spent more than 20 years building and optimizing compensation plans for customers across industries and around the world. That experience is baked into the architecture, not as custom scripts written for one customer, but as a structured, extensible core that generalizes across hundreds of them. When AI reads our system, it doesn't see a black box. It sees documented intent. It knows what your logic means, not just what it looks like. That's what makes the AI useful rather than decorative.
Gartner also noted something less obvious: high customer retention, multiyear prepaid contracts, and profitability. In a market full of growth-at-all-costs narratives, that business momentum proves sustainability.
One more thing, because it matters for context: Performio is not a Gartner customer. We don't pay for an advisory retainer, a research license, or any form of analyst marketing program. In a space where analyst recognition and vendor spending often travel together, that's not a small distinction. What Gartner found, they found on merit. We think that's the only kind of recognition worth having.
AI built for compensation, not just conversation
